Hello and welcome!
I created this little spot to share the beautiful things that I capture and bring home with me.
My name is Delaney, but I like to keep it simple and go by Laney.
I live in a little house nestled in the Boston mountains of Arkansas with my sweet husband and three very spoiled kitty children. I have been working as a veterinary assistant for eighteen years. My husband is a musician. Our home is full of art, music, love, and cat hair. We spend our time together going camping, traveling to National Parks, and seeing lots of live music. Life is good.
For as long as I can remember I've been drawn to photography. It has taught me to see the world in a new way. I have no formal training. I just spend all my free time taking photos. I shoot with both film and digital cameras. It was hard for me to give into digital photography, but it has slowly worked it's way into my heart. When I want to slow down and think out each frame I break out my old film cameras.
My subject matter is wide ranging, but the spirit of the natural world is where my heart is. I always find inspiration in gardens, empty fields, and lush forests. I prefer working with shallow dof and selective focus lenses. They add a soft, dreamy effect that I love.
When I'm not shooting photos or blogging I love to cook up new things, shop at flea markets and thrift stores for vintage treasures, make crafts, explore new places, read, and dance around with my cats.
