almost fall

I had a nice drive home from work this evening. The light was glowing. It's changing fast.

Fall is just around the corner...YES!! I'm so ready for cooler weather.

I decided to take a little break from editing literally hundreds of Yosemite photos to post a

few shots of my Gypsy girl. She turned thirteen this year. Isn't she beautiful?

We finally arrived in California on day three of our trip. The drive went by pretty fast with lots of stops at fruit stands and the In-N-Out drive-thru. That night we stayed at a hotel on route 66 in Barstow. I was later told by many Californians that wasn't a good idea. Oh well. I didn't think it was all that bad. The hotel pool was a much needed break after driving through the mojave desert all day. I got to drink a cold beer and listen to my cali playlist I made for my ipod while watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.

I was so excited to be in California.

I forgot to share my last contribution to words to shoot by. The word was space.

These were taken on my first day in California. I saw a lot of wide open spaces driving through the
mojave desert. I have tons to share from my visit to Cali coming soon.

a place of peace

The second night of our trip was spent at the Grand Canyon. It was a much needed day of peace and quiet.

That night was one of the best nights of rest I have ever had camping. It was so quiet! No bug sounds! I

was not used to that at all. The next morning I woke up at five and got to see a beautiful sunrise with Rob.

Our stay there was perfect.

new mexico and arizona

These are from the first two days of our road trip. The time change was messing with me so I was

pretty tired. I kept a journal along the way jotting down little things I wanted to remember.

Some highlights from these two days were seeing dust tornadoes on the Texas plains, the desert skies,

browsing at EVERY indian souvenir shop in New Mexico, eating tons of white cheddar popcorn and

gummy worms in the car, having egg sandwiches and grapes on the side of the road in Texas,

listening to every album on both of our ipods, the cute wigwams in Holbrook, and seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. Those pictures are coming soon. I needed a whole post for them! Hope everyone is
having a fun summer.
