hello spring

Spring

No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. ~Hal Borland

Here I am NINE months later still trying to keep this little blog alive. I've been busy busy! Moving to the country has proven to be a lot more challenging than I expected. Between the huge deer hitting my car on Christmas eve morning and our water well caving in on our pump on Valentine's Day it's been trying to say the least. I'm not quitting though. We will get through it all.
In other news, I'm going to be FORTY years old in less than two weeks!
Bring it on.

slowly coming back

winter sunset

So...here it is almost three months since my last post. I had to take a break. I'm slowly starting to
feel like taking photos again. I needed a rest from photography, blogging, and social media. Sometimes you just need to take a break and start fresh. That works for me. I'm excited about the new year and have lots of changes coming my way!

magic in the water

Ozark Mountain river water

"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water."  - Loren Eiseley

First kayaking trip of the year today!

Summer is for dipping your feet in the cool river water. It's one of my favorite things about the season. I love watching the colors of the rocks under water change with the shimmering light. I took these photos with my iphone while on our first kayaking trip of the year. We floated the upper section of the Big Sugar in Missouri. I'm already looking forward to our next trip on the river. I can't get enough of that crystal clear river water. Hope everyone is having a fun summer!

my plum

my plum.

Just wanted to check in. It's been a long month. Gypsy is coming in on the last stages of her
disease, so I've been spending my time caring for her. She still eats, but I have to butter her up with
different things to keep her interested. We tried a new medicine on her a few weeks ago and she almost died. It just about did me in. She's been doing a little better since we stopped some of the meds. Please keep me in your thoughts. Letting her go is going to be hard.

Instant Love

2012 Untitled beetle bug - melon Untitled wind Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

In April of 2012 I got my first iphone for my birthday. As soon as I left the store I downloaded the Instagram app and it was instant love. It's been cool having a camera with me at all times when I see something that catches my eye. I thought I would share a selection of some favorites I took in 2012.

I think 2013 is going to be an amazing one with more outdoors, camping, and roadtrips.
You know...the good stuff.

Hope everyone had a fun holiday season!
