We celebrated Lula's third birthday a few weeks ago. Lula got her first camera and we got to go on a little photo walk together around her home. I loved watching her taking photos. She was so careful framing her shots and excited to show me what she captured. It was a nice spring day in the country spent with friends.

It seems I've fallen head over heels for chickens. Years ago while living in Austin, I met a hen

named Holly and I've never forgotten her. I always said I was going to have my own flock of ladies someday and hopefully soon that dream will come true. Last weekend Rob and I visited a wilderness safari that had a little petting zoo with lots of chickens. I loved getting to spend time with them and hearing their cute coos and clucking sounds. I was able to get a few good shots of them and thought I would share. Happy Valentine's Day!

These photos were taken at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

I work just down the road from them so when there is a cloudy day in the forecast I always bring

my camera with me to work and head over there on my lunch break.

It's a peaceful place to take a break for sure.
