forest wilderness

I went on a much needed walk in the woods the other day. It was the first time I had been out
to take pictures in a long time. April is one of my favorite months to hike in Arkansas. The wildflowers and waterfalls come to life and create a magical forest wilderness.

I also wanted to try out my new Lensbaby edge 80 optic that I got for Christmas. I was able to get a few shots that I liked with it, but I need to practice more. Most of the shots were just too blurry. I can tell that I'm going to love using it though.

Hope everyone is enjoying the spring season!

  1. Ahhhhhhhhhh I wish i had woods like this nearby to my home. But most of Southern California just isn't quite the same as real wilderness. Alas, I'll have to enjoy these photos. So lovely.

    1. I feel lucky to have these woods so close to home, but they're no where near the beauty of California. I saw stuff there that made me cry. The Redwoods...Yosemite NP...I mean, wow! You're lucky to live in Cali!

  4. Oh my, these photos definitely feel like I am taking a step in to an enchanted forest! So stunning!! :)

Also, I have a question... I am thinking about getting a Lensbaby (with tax refund, yay!!) and I was wondering if you could give me a suggestion for what a beginner should start off with?? I was looking at the "Muse" lens... Do you know if it's good? I don't know very much about these lens, but I have wanted to learn for a while now... Thank you so much for any help!

    1. Thank you, Sarah!

I think a good starter lensbaby would be the Muse. It's not as sharp as the composer pro, but a good start. I have the Composer. I don't think they sell it anymore. It's now the Composer Pro. I think you should try it! Maybe check KEH.com or ebay for a used Muse. I love my lensbaby stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
